Who are the best brothers to ever play for Auburn football?

With Malik Blocton picking Auburn like his older brother Marcus Harris, let's take a look at some top sibling combos for the Tigers.

On Saturday, Auburn football’s growing 2024 recruiting class gained another in-state blue-chip commitment in Malik Blocton, a 4-star defensive lineman in the 247Sports Composite.

Blocton is a top-25 player in the state of Alabama and a top-40 defensive lineman in his class, hailing from not too far away from Auburn in the growing Pike Road area. As a junior last season, Blocton recorded 109 tackles, 37 tackles for loss and 12 sacks, according to friend of the newsletter Bryan Matthews.

The 6-foot-4, 275-pound Blocton committed to Auburn over offers from the likes of Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, Clemson, Florida, Ole Miss, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M and USC. Ultimately, Blocton decided to stay close to home.

And “close to home” carries a bit more significance for Blocton, because he’s the younger brother of current Auburn defensive lineman Marcus Harris. While Harris started his career at Kansas before transferring to the Plains, Blocton is set on the orange and blue from the beginning.

With Harris entering his senior season and Blocton still a year away from playing college ball, the brothers are unlikely to team up on the Plains.

"Some people are going to think I’m making this decision based off him — it’s not based off him," Blocton said, per friend of the newsletter Christian Clemente. "Because he’s going to be leaving, this is his last year, me and him will never play together. It’s just Auburn fits for me."

Even if the two never play on the same roster, Harris and Blocton will be the next in a long line of brothers who have played football for the Tigers. It’s a strong list, too, particularly along their spots on the defensive line.

For this edition of the Observer, I went back through the archives to find as many brother duos — and one set of three — who have lettered for Auburn. Who are the top brothers in Tigers history?

Before we go any further, let me stress that this is not a complete list of brothers who have played for Auburn football. Again: This is not a complete list.

You might get to the end of this and have a notable pair I missed. In fact, I can almost guarantee you that I missed a notable pair — or multiple pairs. I dug back through the media guides, but my Internet research can admittedly only go so far. And nothing beats the memories of fans themselves, especially those who have been watching Auburn football for a lot longer than me.

Tracy Rocker and David Rocker

Tracy was a College Football Hall of Famer who finished his Auburn career with a long list of accolades: two-time All-American, three-time All-SEC, SEC Player of the Year, first conference player to ever win the Lombardi Award and the Outland Trophy in the same season. And, a couple of years after Tracy went to the NFL, David became a consensus All-American and was a two-time first-team All-SEC pick. That’s some serious hardware for a pair of brothers.
