Liked the discussion on CBM, one of the most joyful, entertaining players Auburn has ever had (maybe since Barkley), and a key to this championship team. A couple of thoughts:
1. Great basketball teams have succeeded with volatile, emotionally immature players, such as Dennis Rodman and the Bulls and Draymond Green (although all the games he's missed via suspension have caused lots of Warriors fans to wonder if he's worth it). CBM is our Rodman, Green, or, dare I say, our Ron Artest. We need his skill and his energy to succeed at the highest level but we are always one poor decision away from him hurting the team as much as he helps.
2. I place some responsibility for the Flagrant 2 on the coaching staff-isn't there someone that checks in with Chad regularly, has learned what sets him off? Was anything done or said after the one he got away with--when he injured Youngblood's eye? Does the team have a good sports psychologist that meets with Chad regularly? He obviously (at least from my perspective as a mental health professional) has some issues. As possibly the greatest team in Auburn history enters the postseason, this needs to be addressed. It only took August Mahoney THREE MINUTES to get under CBM,s skin enough for him to be ejected from the Yale game, and probably every team Auburn faces from here on out will assign someone to do the same. I believe Oats assigned Youngblood to that task and he succeeded-maybe CBM making it to the second half showed some growth.
Tough things to hear at times, but well said per usual:
1. The way the games are officiated in the SEC does the league as a whole no favors
2. If Doug Shows and Pat Adams do the NCAA Tournament at all, that is a travesty
3. Broome is finesse, from the standpoint of - he’s deliberate. He slows plays his moves. Refs just won’t blow whistles when plays take a while to develop.
The wild crazy at times out of control slashers (hi Grant Nelson who basically sweeps his own feet out from under himself once a game at least) are the ones the refs give the whistle to.
As Michael Jackson once said - “tell ‘em that it’s Human Nature”…
Refs these days can’t keep up with these athletes and are more limited than ever. They can only call what they can fully see and process…
What Auburn has to do is learn to ADJUST to the refs and how the games are being called.

Glad someone else appreciates the pineapple-jalapeno-pepperoni pizza combo. The fourth topping is feta btw, adds another layer of goodness
never even thought of that, keeping it in mind now
Listening now.
