Episode 468: Dance or Die

Justin and Dan look back at Auburn's SEC Tournament exit and look ahead to the Tigers' draw as the No. 1 overall seed in the Big Dance.

Justin and Dan open the show by looking back at Auburn basketball’s SEC Tournament semifinal loss to Tennessee. The guys discuss why there’s no need for the No. 1 overall team in the NCAA Tournament to panic after losing three of its last four — but why the Tigers must get better from their final two weeks of the season.

Justin breaks down the two-edged sword of the free-throw difference against Tennessee and why the Tigers’ guards had a harder time scoring in Nashville. Dan looks at Tahaad Pettiford’s recent struggles and Johni Broome’s continued surge.

The guys then spend the rest of the episode looking at Auburn’s first weekend draw in Lexington for an Atlanta regional that might be analytically — and narratively — difficult but might have some stylistic advantages for the Tigers. They also go through every first-round matchup in the tournament and give some of their upset specials.
