LB Austin Keys (Austin Perryman/Auburn Tigers)

Even though the temperature is still in the mid-90s, it’s officially football season in Auburn.

After a walkthrough Monday, the Tigers hit the practice fields at the Football Performance Center for their first full-speed work of Alabama A&M week.

Media members were allowed to watch nearly an hour of practice, starting with the usual individual drills and continuing into some heated 11-on-11 action.

Before that, a collection of veteran players — quarterback Payton Thorne, tight end Brandon Frazier, offensive guard Jeremiah Wright, defensive back Champ Anthony, cornerback Keionte Scott and safety Jerrin “Bug” Thompson — had game week interviews.

With this being the last scheduled media availability of game weeks for Auburn, we’re going to plan on posting these No-Huddle Notes from what we saw in practice and heard from the interviews on Tuesday evenings throughout the season. Let’s get to it.

  • Hugh Freeze said Monday that he wanted to see how linebacker Austin Keys (MCL sprain) and cornerback Keionte Scott (hamstring) went through practices Tuesday and Wednesday before making a decision on their availability for Saturday’s game. Good news: Both of them were full participants in practice.
