It's going to be a wild offseason of roster management for the Tigers as they get started under new head coach Alex Golesh. Follow it all here.

It’s the start of a new era for Auburn football, which means it’s time for a new edition of the roster tracker.

Since college football players can transfer as many times as they like, the days of knowing exactly who is coming back to a roster each year are over. Anybody can jump into the portal when the window is open, which makes for a large amount of incoming and outgoing movement every single offseason.

That rings even more true for a program like Auburn. Alex Golesh is about to head into his first season on the Plains, where he inherited a roster that loaded up on recruiting talent under Hugh Freeze but failed to secure a single winning season.

Turnover is inevitable in college football, no matter what type of program you have. But a coaching change can become a force multiplier, with players recruited by the previous staff looking elsewhere — and incoming targets looking to take advantage of new opportunities in a new era.

For the sixth offseason in a row, The Observer will keep up with all the roster movement for Auburn football in this one post. This will be updated hundreds of times over the next several weeks and months, so go ahead and bookmark it.

This is going to be a new era for college football, too. Gone are the two transfer portal windows in December and April. Instead, all the movement will be in a busy 15-day stretch of January, where Golesh and his new staff will look to hit the ground running.

Additionally, 2026 will be the first year in which football is a 105-scholarship sport for the SEC. Gone are the days of having to worry about staying under a hard cap. For Auburn — and everybody else — it’s about managing your own revenue-sharing salary cap and NIL war chest while trying to maximize the amount of talent on the roster.

The initial edition of this tracker will be broken down, position-by-position, with four parts each: 2025 Tigers who have the option to return in 2026, confirmed or reported departures, new additions and a quick outlook for each group. As we get into the portal window, transfer targets will be added.

As a reminder: I am not a recruiting expert. Any reported targets listed with each position group are thanks in large part to the reporting of the excellent recruiting writers for 247Sports and On3. (For recruit rankings and visit info in this piece specifically, I will lean on the public 247 database.) If you want to dive deeper and get the full scope of Auburn recruiting, I highly encourage you to subscribe to those sites.

This is a live overview of what’s going on at each position, and, again, we’ll try to keep this updated through the transfer windows and the signing periods.

Both the tracker and the actual scholarship chart are for subscribers, who can access them by clicking the button below. If you would like to purchase a subscription, we are running a 25% off special from now until December 25.
