Today’s newsletter is from AUNerd, formerly of College & Magnolia and new Observer contributor. Nerd stays on top of all things transfer portal and recruiting for Auburn football, and he’s here to talk his favorite pickups for the Tigers in a busy window.
The college football transfer portal — including the extra five-day window following the national title game for Indiana and Miami — is officially closed.
While schools can continue to add players throughout the offseason, the dust has largely settled on the most impactful moves.
Auburn was expected to be one of the most aggressive programs in the portal this cycle after significant December attrition. Even so, the sheer volume of turnover is staggering.
As of today, Auburn has added 39 players via the transfer portal. When combined with the 2026 high school signing class, that brings the total to 59 new players entering the program.

This is not a pickup Auburn fans should take for granted.
