Film Room: Demetris Robertson is the instant-impact WR Auburn needed for 2021
The former 5-star prospect is jumping from Georgia to Auburn for one final season, and he checks a ton of boxes for Bryan Harsin and Mike Bobo.
Bryan Harsin and his new staff haven’t shied away from bringing in instant-impact players to their first Auburn roster. Instead of relying totally on the inherited talent, the Tigers have made a point to fill in certain spots with experienced players elsewhere.
Most of these transfers have fallen into one of two camps. The first is made up of graduate transfers looking for one more stop to help their stock on their way to the NFL. West Virginia cornerback Dreshun Miller, UAB defensive tackle Tony Fair and Southeast Missouri State safety Bydarrius Knighten are taking advantage of their extended eligibilities due to COVID-19 on the Plains.
The second camp is made up of transfers who either played nearby for an SEC program or hail from Auburn’s usual recruiting territory. LSU quarterback TJ Finley and Vanderbilt safety Donovan Kaufman fit that bill. So does Central Michigan running back Jordon Ingram and Kansas defensive lineman Marcus Harris, who both played high school ball in Alabama.
