Over the last few weeks, several of Auburn’s wins in the transfer portal have come with quick turnarounds. UAB defensive tackle Tony Fair, SEMO defensive back Bydarrius Knighten and even new basketball pickup K.D. Johnson were examples of the Tigers finding, offering and landing players in a short amount of time.
That’s not the case for Donovan Kaufman.
Since the end of spring practices in April, Auburn has been heavily linked to Kaufman. The New Orleans native played for new Tigers defensive coordinator Derek Mason at Vanderbilt, and it didn’t take long for news of a scholarship offer to come his way.
Kaufman announced Wednesday afternoon that he would be transferring to Auburn, with the Tigers beating out finalist Texas for his services.
