It’s pretty good to be Bruce Pearl right now.

Since the last mailbag, Pearl coached his team to yet another home win over John Calipari and Kentucky. The Tigers are up by two games in the SEC title race already, and they’re now No. 1 in the country for the first time ever. They’ll hit the weekend with the longest winning streak in college basketball.

That kind of success is going to draw a lot of interest. Pearl has done plenty of national TV, radio and podcast hits this week, putting more exposure on the Auburn basketball brand.

It might also attract interest from other schools who want to get to that point.

In this week’s Mailbag, we start with the important Bruce Pearl-Louisville questions. Then we transition to several questions about specific players and some big-picture looks at the roster right now and moving forward. And, for some reason, the off-topic questions this week involved pro wrestling, which this mailbag is always happy to tackle.

(Also: There were a number of you who asked questions about certain stats and analytic findings for Auburn basketball — facing zone defenses, types of shots, out-of-timeout numbers — that I just don’t have access to right now. But they’re great questions.)

Let’s go.
