The first week of football practice under Bryan Harsin is upon us, yet the Mailbag had just as many questions this week about Bruce Pearl’s team.

Auburn, it’s a basketball school.

It’s early — extremely early — but it looks like the Bryan Harsin administration is going to be more open than the previous one.

I would have never predicted that Auburn would have a completely open, non-A-Day practice to fans. Gus Malzahn never had one. Gene Chizik never had one. Tommy Tuberville, from what I’ve been told, never had one after Nick Saban took over at Alabama. These things are rare now, especially at big-time programs.

Now, it’s the first week of spring practices. Auburn isn’t going to unveil a lot because it’s probably not going to do a lot in terms of what it would want to shield from outsiders. Football …
