Before we head to San Antonio for what should be a memorable week, here's a message to all of our subscribers.

AUBURN — By the time most of you are reading this, I will either be at the Atlanta airport or on a flight to San Antonio.

The Auburn Observer is going to cover the Final Four.

This is the second-ever trip to the Final Four for Auburn men’s basketball — a program which, when I first started covering the team in 2013, was arguably the most hopeless high-major in the entire country.

But this is the first-ever trip for me, the oldest son of a couple who first met playing intramural basketball.

I’ve been around this sport from the beginning. My earliest years were spent in gyms, either watching my mother coach or playing it myself. My parents taught me from the very beginning to love God and love people. Basketball was a close third.
